Once that's done a pop-up will appear asking you if you want to copy the files to the flash drive, click yes and wait.Ĥ) Once the script has completed copying files a window will pop up asking if you would like to USB drive to be preferred boot drive U: select yes if you're installing this on a netbook or something and no if you're making this for a PC that will run both SATA & PATA drives. Press Y then enter.ģ)Once the drive is done with the formatting press enter to continue and you'll see Windows XP files being copied to the temp drive. This is just a temporary drive the program creates to cache the windows installation files. *Press 3 and enter the drive letter of your USB stickĢ)The script will ask you if you want to format drive T. *Press 2 and enter a letter not currently assigned to a drive on your PC A folder browse window will open for you to browse to the location of you XP setup files (e.g your DVD-ROM drive with Windows XP CD in or a virtual drive with a Win XP ISO mounted) If all went well you should see "Bootcode was successfully updated on all targeted volumes."ĥ)Now you can close this command prompt (don't close the usbprep8 one by mistake) and the petousb window.Ħ)A new cmd window should pop up (reference picture: CLICK)ġ)Now you need to enter the correct information for numbers 1-3.
